Destination wedding at the time of Coronavirus

Destination wedding at the time of Coronavirus

No this is not an alarmist article, it’s an analysis (Destination wedding at the time of Coronavirus) of our work of destination wedding filmmakers and the tangible repercussions of the spread of psychological media terrorism.

It happened, the second couple gave up getting married in Italy next spring because of the Coronovirus, all of this happened within a week:

I’am so sorry Lu but we had to make a sad decision today. We are likely moving our wedding location from Italy in fear of travel restriction with the spread of the Coronavirus.”

With the unknown ahead we needed to make the precautionary move.

I hope you can understand.

Best wishes to all in Italy for a speedy conclusion of this epidemic.”

Did it just happen to us or did it happen to someone else out there?

How it all started / Destination wedding at the time of Coronavirus

Day 5 February, reading about the spread of coronavirus in China, my prepper soul took over and forced Giuseppe to stock up on what was necessary to face a possible period of crisis. We have not raid the supermarkets with food supplies, we have always had a pantry of long life shelf food that we renew monthly, we have purchased masks and disinfectant products. I knew that fear would create inconveniences to the daily routine in the near future, and it did. However, I did not believe that the spread of psychological terror conveyed by the media had led us to face the repercussions on our work so early.

On Friday 23 February the first news of the spread of the virus in Lombardy.

What about the situation in Italy around the world? What drives a couple who have planned to marry in Italy to give up? What is Italy’s image at the moment and what precautions are other states taking “against” us? Are all these fears founded?

We have been doing this job for 10 years, there have been wars, economic and social crises, but never before has anything threatened to affect our work in such a worrying way.

The Coronavirus has a rapid spread also due to its low mortality rate, the victims here in Italy are people with other serious diseases and their body does not have the necessary strength to fight the virus independently. Today they say that 95% of the sick recover even if a vaccine does not yet exist, and just under 300 cases have been recorded throughout Italy. In Italy the controls started massively and this is why it was possible to diagnose the virus even to those who do not show symptoms or have mild symptoms.

The media in Italy say that the other states have made checks only to those who have returned from China and for this reason the total number of infected is so low. But the Milan stock exchange collapses, the spread rises and the other States impose quarantine on those arriving from northern Italy.

So what will happen to the tourism industry and all those jobs related to it? What is happening to our sector? What are these terrifying news that arrive abroad and that push couples to change their minds?

Is it the fear of contracting the virus or not being able to spend a quarantine once they have returned from Italy to their countries of origin?

I wish we had clear, few but real information.

But the information that has passed faster is fear and hatred. Fear and hatred of something that is unknown, because fear and hatred make more news. And how to remain impassive to the screams of the city of Wuhan forced into isolation? How to remain impassive to scenes of violence perpetrated by men on men. Violence is real, hatred is real and is constantly fueled.

I wonder if the press will talk about the consequences that this crisis will leave behind once the coronavirus is no longer afraid. I wonder if the media will deal with the problems of small business owners, independent workers, who will amplify our voice?

Destination Wedding in the South of Italy

As many of you know we are based in the South of Italy, we love to travel the world documenting intense Love Stories but when the couple plan their Destination Wedding in the South of Italy we walk on clouds for the excitement. Many places here are of unspoiled beauty, which leaves you speechless.

You are surrounded by crystal clear sea on one side and high mountains on the other. You can breathe the cleanest air in Europe in the Sila mountains, and swim among the cleanest waters of the Mediterranean Sea.

If you are a food lover, you can delight your palate with unique flavors and organic foods. Southern Italy is the beauty enclosed in a jar that (unfortunately) few people get to know!

This is the story we share with you today, Giuseppe and Ksenjia and their Romantic Destination Wedding in the South of Italy.

4 Spooky Tips for Halloween shooting session

October is the right month to bring our passion for Horror films to the surface, but also for eccentric make-up and pumpkin pastries!
Everything that is mysterious and dark has always had a special charm for us (but this is not the reason why we always wear black!).

4 SPOOKY TIPS FOR HALLOWEEN SHOOTING SESSION

WHAT DOES SCARE YOU?

What can be considered really spooky today? Honestly, since I was 10 years old, it no longer frightens me to see the monster (badly done) comes out of the basement, monsters that walk on the ceiling, or dirty dressed maniacs running towards you with a chainsaw. We have been desensitized to a certain type of horror imagery. Don’t get me wrong, Jason and Freddy always keep their charm, but what terrifies us today is all that is hidden in the shadows, that is not shown but it suggests and it echoes our innermost fears.

The fake documentary horror had a lot of charm on its debut, with “The Blair Witch Project”. It was precisely the fear of what you could not see, the story told with a journalistic slant, which made these films very fascinating. But the popularity of the so-called “found footage” genre it has lapsed very quickly due to its abuse, so much so that it has become a parody of itself.

The best contemporary horror films we have lately watched with interest, are often the work of independent Filmmakers,
or they are positioned on a thin line between the paranolmal horror and the thriller.

If you want some inspiration to get into the mood, or just give a gift to a friend who loves horror movies,or spend Halloween night lounging on the couch, you might like this list.

1. The VVitch

2. Hereditary

3. Us

4. Babadook

5. Mother!

Now that we have the right inspiration, we are ready to plan our scary shooting, keep reading 4 Spooky Tips for Halloween shooting session.

HAUNTING PLACES

One of the things that attracts me the most and really scares me, is to think of spending the night alone in a haunted place. Souls suspended between life and death that claim what was brutally taken away: this is disturbing!
Finding a perfect place for your Halloween shooting is not very difficult, an abandoned house, a foggy forest, a cemetery. These are definitely clichés, but they drag an imaginary that works.

Looking for some inspiration, I came across the most terrifying places in the world, maybe some of them are right next to you!

1. THE HILL OF CROSSESLithuania
The exact origins of Lithuania’s Kryžių Kalnas, or the Hill of Crosses, remain a mystery. Just outside the northern city of Šiauliai, thousands of metal and wooden crosses fully cover a Hill.

2. ISLAND OF DOLLS  Mexico
Dolls in various stages of deterioration hang on trees across this island in Mexico’s Lake Xochimilco.

3. LIZZIE BORDEN HOUSE – United States
In August of 1892, Andrew and Abby Borden were found murdered at this house in Massachusetts. Their daughter Lizzie was considered the prime suspect. The site is now a bed & breakfast, in which guests may choose to sleep in the same rooms where the Bordens took their final breaths.

4. AOKIGAHARA FOREST – Japan
This forest on hardened lava became known in recent years as “the suicide forest.” Japanese spiritualists believe that the suicides committed in the forest have permeated Aokigahara’s trees, generating paranormal activity and preventing many who enter from escaping the forest’s depths.

5. CAPUCHIN CATACOMB – Italy
Mummies of more than 2,000 individuals lie within the catacombs of this Sicilian monastery in Palermo. The conservation status of the corpses exposed make the cemetery of the Convent of the Capuchin Friars one of the most impressive places to visit in the world.

Identifying and choosing the right place for the Halloween shooting is a great advantage for us. A forest or an old house is just around the corner, but there are some tricks that can make a place truly spooky. Keep reading 4 Spooky Tips for Halloween shooting session.

USE PROPS

It is not difficult to make the environment suitable for our halloween shooting session, just surround yourself with some interesting element and take good care of the lighting. Even an empty room can turn into a place of terror.

1. FOG MACHINE

Just add a bit of fog to a darkened room and everything will take on a mysterious and disturbing appearance.

2. SMOKE BOMB

A wood at dusk and a purple smoke bomb is the perfect scanario for a witch ritual

3. BLACK CANDLES

I always have a supply of long black candles at home, they are great for recreating a soft and intriguing lighting.

4. CANDELSTICK

Let your models hold the candelstick for an even more spooky look.

5. PUMKINS

Buy pumpkins, every forms and shapes, you can empty and carve them, and use them as lighting. You can paint them in white or black, or give a glamorous look by coloring them with gold. Use the pulp to make pumpkin muffins with almonds (my favorites here).

Top 5 Reasons to Elope in Rome

I saw in the eyes of the couple an uncompromising happiness. In 11 years of experience in documenting destination weddings, the elopement wedding has always left us very strong, truer emotions. Organizing a traditional destination wedding always brings with it a lot of anxiety. If you want to strip away the pressure, anxiety, and obligation about having a traditional wedding, the elopement wedding is the best option.

By eloping, the couple, commit their lives to each other and celebrate their love in an uninhibited way that made the most sense for them.

For a lot of couples, the main reason they chose to elope was because they wanted the opportunity to really focus on intimate, intentional moments during their wedding day, and they didn't feel that a more traditional wedding would afford them those moments.

Starting your own life together with an adventure can be considered a pure and cathartic experience, the journey becomes a symbol of a path to the future that you decide to live next to the other. The journey becomes a fundamental part of the marriage experience, so choosing the right destination becomes a fundamental choice.

We have documented elopement weddings on a mountain in the Dolomites, on a hill in Tuscany, on a cliff in Normandy, on a rooftop in Paris, in Venice, Berlin, Hong Kong. But today we want to talk about the Top 5 reasons to elope in Rome.

Breathtaking Wedding in Sicily

Last year we were lucky enough to tell the love story of Katie and Lev. I’m talking about luck because meeting them made us better people, gave us incredible experiences (I’m talking about sunsets over the Parisian rooftop that you can see here). Katie and Lev celebrated their Breathtaking Wedding Sicily, on the incredible Island of Favignana, a place made of cliffs, crystal clear sea, old abandoned lighthouses and white tuff caves.

Katie and Lev exchanged promises surrounded by family and friends (come from all over the world) under a magnificent evergreen tree.

"As soon as We saw the tree we barely held back the tears, it was like a sign to us, we were in the right place with special people. (you know, our logo is an evergreen tree and our name is evergreen film)."

BOHO WEDDING IN ITALY

Let’s take a step back to the past year when we documented a fascinating Boho wedding in a little town close to Milan, Bergamo Alta. The New York based couple, chose this city to celebrate the wedding as Gaia, the bride, was born here. We could not be happier to tell you about this adventure, made up of wild nature and baroque architecture.

This is why this Boho wedding from New York to Milan is so fascinating, because we experied the wild nature of the Acquafraggia falls the day before their wedding, driving a few hours, singing old italian songs and laughing a lot. This is an indelible memory for us.

Gaia, the bride, she is one of the most fascinating people we have ever met, her elegance, her long (very long) brown hair, her magnetic eyes: we fell in love with her at first sight. She is an italian interior designer co founder of Northerners Collective.

Dom, the groom, he is a kind guy, creative, full of vitality. He is an excellent cook (this is the blog), he has Italian origins as well as Gaia, but he never lived in Italy. Funny thing: he can’t pronounce his Italian surname well!

Gaia and Dom are a very close-knit couple, you can tell by the looks they exchange. They have a great complicity. They are the mantles of nature, good food, and design, so we immediately agreed.

If you want to dream you have to take a look of the video below, because theyr boho wedding was pure energy. The wedding location, Palazzo Moroni, is a Museum, the result of a donation by Count Antonio Moroni of one of the most evocative historical buildings in Bergamo, along with an invaluable artistic, cultural, and environmental heritage that it houses.

We really hope to visit this place again, soon!

An Elegant Wedding in Tuscany

Immersed in the unique colors of a Tuscany Sunset, Ersilia and Lucio shared the excitement of joining in marriage, with their friends and family. This elegant wedding in Tuscany took place in a wonderful Tuscany venue surrounded by hills, a very intimate and suggestive scenario.

Lucio and Ersilia are two architects of Italian origins but they live in New York. What better choice if not Tuscany to celebrate their Italian style wedding?

This elegant wedding in Tuscany felt like an old movie, just incredible and perfect, the relaxed atmosphere of a serene summer day.
